چکیده

A black box Binary Encounter Bethe (BEB) with an effective core potential (ECP) procedure is implemented, which facilitates the efficient calculation of electron impact ionization cross sections for molecules that include heavy atoms. This available in Quantemol collisions software, a user friendly graphical interface to UKRMol+ codes. Tests were performed following series molecules: CF4, CCl4, CBr4, CI4, and CAt4; CH4, SiH4, GeH4, SnH4; PH3, PF3, PCl3; SiCl4 BCl3; CH3Br CF3I. Use ECP generally raises predicted section at lower energies leading improved agreement experiment compared all calculations BEB sections. Scaling by polarizability target molecule shown give somewhat erratic results, do not always provide closer measured

Calculation of electron-impact total-ionization cross sections

A computationally efficient analytic form of the Born-approximation electron-impact ionization amplitude is derived for general neutral-atom targets. High-quality Hartree-Fock Slater orbitals are used to model the target wave function. Full orthogonalization of the continuum Coulomb wave to all occupied orbitals of the target atom is enforced. Results are presented for noble gases ~Ne, Ar, Kr, ...

Calculation of electron impact excitation and ionization cross sections for light elements

The present work is devoted to the calculation of excitation and ionization cross sections and rate coefficients for light elements. The calculation is performed by the complex of programs ATOM-AKM [1]. The algorithms for excitation and ionization are rather different. They will be described in separate sections. Supplementary data associated with this article (cross sections σ, rate coefficien...

New Model for Electron-Impact Ionization Cross Sections of Molecules

A theoretical model for electron-impact ionization cross sections, which has been developed primarily for atoms and atomic ions, is applied to neutral molecules. The new model combines the binary-encounter theory and the Bethe theory for electron-impact ionization, and uses minimal theoretical data for the ground state of the target molecule, which are readily available from public-domain molec...

Electron-Impact Total Ionization Cross Sections of CH and C2H2

Electron-impact total ionization cross sections for the CH radical and C2H2 (acetylene) have been calculated using the Binary-Encounter-Bethe (BEB) model. The BEB model combines the Mott cross section and the asymptotic form of the Bethe theory, and has been shown to generate reliable ionization cross sections for a large variety of molecules. The BEB cross sections for CH and C2H2 are in good ...

Electron-Impact Total Ionization Cross Sections of Molecular Ions

The Binary-Encounter-Bethe (BEB) model for electron-impact total ionization cross sections of neutral molecules has been modified for molecular positive ions. The total ionization cross sections for [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], CD(+), and CO(+) from the modified BEB formula are compared to available experimental data. The theory is in good agreement with experimental data on [Formu...
